Meet Associate Producer Cordelia Egerton-Warburton

Hello friends! My name is Cordelia, and I am SPN’s Operations Associate Producer for the 2021 Independent Publishing Conference. I’m so excited to be a part of this year’s team and I can’t wait to jump in!

I moved to Melbourne when I was 17, but I am originally a west coast girl. Being from Perth, I love the sun, surf, and sand, and I do miss having a light cotton jumper as the warmest item in my wardrobe. But Melbourne has stolen my heart in equal measure, with its quirky streets and frosty spring-times. My ideal morning includes a sticky chai from Elektra on Brunswick St, an escargot from Morning Market on Gertrude St, and a stroll around Fitzroy Gardens in the chilly fog.

In my undergraduate degree I majored in philosophy, and in my honours year I wrote a thesis on reported belief as an action-driver. Doing philosophy didn’t feel like work; it felt like I had an excuse to think all day without interruption. I love discovering new ideas and learning about the world from a different perspective, which I guess is why I love reading novels too.

I read mostly to escape and enter a new world for a few hours at a time, and when I find that special story that tickles my imagination, I know I’m in for a serious case of book hangover.

I’ve worked as a waitress, a tutor, a marketing assistant, and a graphic designer. I was editor-in-chief of my college’s student magazine, I’ve designed artwork for a university musical production, and organised an annual charity ball with a bunch of friends. I’m currently the Sales Manager at Grattan Street Press, and our latest release This is Us Now is a cracker of a story if you’re looking for your next read.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the Independent Publishing Conference this year, but you can also find me on LinkedIn.
