Sonia Orchard

Sonia Orchard is the founder and festival director of Mountain Writers Festival—Australia’s first writers’ festival to focus exclusively on all things environmental. After several covid cancellations, MtWF ran for the first time in early November 2022 on Wurundjeri Country (Macedon) and all events, including a commissioned play reading, sold out. Sonia is also the author of three books—a memoir and two literary fiction novels—and has two nonfiction books coming out with Affirm Press in 2023.
