A New Appointment at Margaret River Press

Margaret River Press is delighted to announce that Laurie Steed has been employed as our new Project Manager. Among other responsibilities, Laurie will set up a Margaret River Residency program, identify potential partners and establish a mentoring program.

Laurie is a widely published short story writer and is currently working on The Bear, a novel in stories. In 2013 he won the Patricia Hackett Prize for Fiction and the Creative Works Prize at the 2013 Higher Degree by Research Achievement Awards. He is also a recipient of fellowships from The University of Iowa, The Baltic Writing Residency, The Elizabeth Kostova Foundation, The Katharine Susannah Prichard Foundation and The Fellowship of Writers (Western Australia). He completed his Ph.D. in Creative Writing at the University of Western Australia in 2015.
