The Wheeler Centre operates a hearing loop in our Performance Space, which allows patrons who are wearing a hearing aid to tune in to the frequency of the venue.Physical Access
Every effort has been made to ensure that the Wheeler Centre’s events are accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Wheeler Centre events have unallocated seating – please contact us if you require reserved seating to accommodate your access needs.
The Wheeler Centre building is accessible by a ramp located to the right of the entrance on Little Lonsdale Street, approximately 25m along. We are happy for patrons to stay in their chair or to transfer to a seat. Please let them know when you book.
State Library Victoria works, September 2018
If you’re a frequent visitor to the Wheeler Centre, you may have noticed that our neighbours, State Library Victoria, are undergoing a major redevelopment. The Library will remain open throughout construction, with some changes to accessing the building.
As a result of the works, pedestrian traffic on Little Lonsdale Street may be intermittently redirected (with marked crossings) before 5pm on weekdays. Additionally, accessible parking spaces on Little Lonsdale Street may be affected.
If you require assistance in reaching the Wheeler Centre (or The Moat), please phone them on 9094 7800.
There are disability metered street-side parking spaces (x 2) available on the left-hand side of Little Lonsdale Street – accessible from the Swanston Street end – roughly 25 metres from the Wheeler Centre’s wheelchair access ramp.
There are three additional spaces on LaTrobe Street, outside Mr Tulk.
