Jess Gately is a freelance editor specialising in speculative fiction. She is the President of Editors WA (a branch of the Institute of Professional Editors) and holds a Master’s in Professional Writing and Publishing from Curtin University where her thesis focused on the editorial approach to fictional languages in science fiction and fantasy manuscripts. She has been a judge for the Aurealis Awards since 2019 and was a judge for the SPN Book of the Year Award in 2021.
