Award winning cross cultural work

emPRESS Publishing specialises in Australian landscapes and their historical and cultural contexts. em PRESS is particularly interested in fusing Indigenous, European settler and nature-based readings of the landscape to provide a deeper, truer viewpoint of our country’s heritage.  em PRESS has published two award winning books in recent years: The People of Budj Bim (2010) on the history of the Gunditjmara people in south-west Victoria; and the Goldfields Track Walking Guide (2012), which includes cultural heritage, and was described as “a model for future guides.” The most recent publications are a nature journal organised around a six seasons calendar and a series of booklets on the ‘both ways cultural’ approach practised by the Yirralka Rangers in Yolngu country in north-east Arnhem Land.  em PRESS produces 1-2 publications annually.
