Meet Associate Producer Nathanael Wheatcroft-Brown

I’m very excited to be a part of this year’s team at the Small Press Network. Originally from the small coastal town of Whitby in the North East of England, I came to Australia in 2019 to study a Master’s of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing at The University of Melbourne. With an undergraduate degree in Filmmaking, I have a strong passion for storytelling, and have always been excited by the prospect of screenwriting and writing fiction. I have a keen eye for detail and pay close attention to narrative texts, and enjoy the editorial process of uncovering and polishing author voice and vision.

I believe stories inspire people to find the same threads within themselves that exist within others. They help establish connections, and empower individuals to redefine and reimagine their perspectives on what is most important to them in their daily lives. It’s hard to choose, but a list of my favourite books include!: Maurice by E.M. Forster, The Color Purple by Alice Walker, Call Me by Your Name by André Aciman, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, and Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all this year at the Independent Publishing Conference. You can contact me through Instagram.
